vacation is a good time to start a blog...

Well, I'm nearing the end of my time at home (and how I missed the snow!), where instead of leaving the Jewish professional world behind, I've been thinking about it even more. I have no idea what to do next, after this one year internship thing is over. I am pretty sure that I'll be leaving Houston and I'm looking for a better job (and seriously, JCSC = death). Don't get me wrong, my job can really be very fun, but it's also long and weird hours, lots of thankless schlepping and hauling and driving around like a crazy person, and crazed calling and emailing.

So, here's the thing: I've realized that I'm committed to a career as a Jewish professional, but that this profession is really very ridiculous sometimes. The set up and management of Jewish organizations is just downright wacky! My job right now is most definitely ridiculous (in so many ways) and pretty near impossible. I'm on a journey (aren't we all, Lao Tzu?), trying desperately to figure out exactly what to do next. These are my travel notes, if you will, of my journey through Jewish professionalism. Maybe I'll figure some things out, who knows!
